The morning after a night of celebratory eating and drinking can be rough. Rich, greasy, heavy and sugary foods can wreak havoc on your stomach, digestive system and overall mood.

Relief is on it’s way our Kefir Tummy Taming Smoothie. Full of ingredients that are help support regularity, like kefir, ginger and melon, it’s also cooling and nourishing. Even better, it’s highly customizable, meaning you can add or subtract ingredients to your taste or availability. We prefer to drink it at the start of the day, but you can enjoy it anytime.

Tummy Taming Smoothie

  • 1 – 1 1/2 cups Lifeway Organic Lowfat Plain Kefir*
  • 1/2 cup cubed honeydew melon
  • 1/2 cup peeled, seeded, and cubed fresh organic cucumber
  • 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ tsp ground cloves, optional
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon, optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender. Start blending on low, then gradually increase speed to high. Blend until completely smooth. Enjoy immediately, alone, or with a light breakfast.

* We chose Lifeway Lowfat Plain Kefir to keep the added sugar content down, but feel free to substitute with the kefir variety of your choosing. A fruity option, such as blueberry or raspberry, would go well with this combination.
