Raspberry Peach Green Tea Smoothie

Peach is the superfood ingredient in today’s recipe, and it’s made even more delicious thanks to the addition of Lifeway Kefir or Lifeway Oat, both great sources of probiotics and more. This Raspberry Peach Green Tea Smoothie is one of the best smoothie drinks of all time. It’s a gut-healthy blend of banana, brewed green tea, raspberries, peach slices, mint leaves, and our organic whole milk matcha kefir or Peach Lifeway Oat, depending on if you use our dairy-based kefir or non-dairy probiotic-rich Lifeaway Oat beverage.

Native to Europe and northern Asia, raspberries are related to the rose family and are a good source of fiber and vitamin C, as well as a potent source of antioxidants to help your cells fight against damaging oxidative stress. Bananas and peaches both have prebiotic fiber to fuel the 12 live and active probiotics in our Matcha Whole Milk Kefir or the 10 live and active cultures in Lifeway Oat to help support a healthy gut microbiome; they’re also both great sources of potassium. This smoothie tastes so delicious that it will leave you s(peach)less. If you can’t find our matcha flavored kefir, or peach-flavored Lifeway Oat, no worries; just sub in our Lifeway Vanilla Organic Whole Milk Kefir or  Lifeway Vanilla Oat instead.

Cultured Dairy: The Nutrition Benefits You Actually Need to Know

With increasing research linking the correlation between probiotics, gut health, and immunity, it’s no secret that the integrity of our gut is vital to our health. Although additional factors such as stress, antibiotic usage, and individual health conditions can contribute to the condition of our gut, a focus on healthy food choices is one of the easiest ways to support the microbiome.

Several studies have shown a strong association between the gut-brain-microbiota. Probiotics introduced to the gut have been found to support immunity, improve allergies, and improve digestion.

Studies have shown that reduced diversity of healthy gut bacteria during early years is associated with an increase in food allergies during school-age years. In addition, kefir made from whole fat milk helps absorb key nutrients such as Vitamins A, D, E, and K. Vitamin K is important because it helps your bones absorb calcium. It’s important to know that kefir contains a special trio: vitamin D, K, and calcium – all three crucial elements to support bone health.

This is where Lifeway Oat is so beneficial since it is an organic, cultured oat milk beyond just another standard oat milk. Lifeway Oat contains both fiber and probiotics to help support a healthier body and brain, which means an overall healthier you.

Prebiotics + Probiotics = A Healthier You

Prebiotics are non-living, non-digestible carbohydrates naturally found in a variety of fiber-rich plant foods. Your body actually can’t digest prebiotics, so they’re what probiotics feed off of to remain actively working in your digestive system. They help the digestive system by promoting the growth of good bacteria. Prebiotics and probiotics work together in balance to make sure our digestive system stays on track and regular. Research has found that consuming a variety of prebiotic and probiotic food sources may improve your body’s natural functions, including both your immune and digestive systems.
