This fabulous French toast recipe is a satisfyingly decadent breakfast that’s bursting with nutrients and natural berry flavor. It’s easy to make. We start by soaking a few slices of whole grain bread in a mixture made with Lifeway Kefir. This allows the toast to cook golden and crispy on the outside and rich and creamy on the inside. As we stack the toast, we spread a blend of Lifeway Farmer Cheese, honey, and cinnamon on each slice. This gives it a deliciously sweet probiotic punch. French Toast
- 6 slices of medium-cut bread (whole-grain)
- 2 tbsp of flaxseed meal
- 1 cup Vanilla Whole Milk Kefir
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Berries
- 1/2 - 1 cup of mixed berries (blueberry, blackberry, raspberry)
Farmer Cheese Blend
- 1/2 cup Farmer Cheese
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Soak the bread in the whole milk kefir mixed with vanilla, salt and flax.
- Cook the bread on a hot pan with butter till golden brown on both sides. Set aside to cool.
- Mix farmer cheese with honey and cinnamon and begin layering the french toast with the creamy spread.
- Top the french toast with fresh berries and enjoy!
