Prep Time: 15 minutes Servings: 1-2

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F and brush each slice of bread with 1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil.
  2. Place the pieces of bread on a baking pan and into the oven, baking only until lightly toasted, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the oven, then carefully top each toast with 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce. Place 1/3 cup Lifeway Farmer Cheese over the marinara on each piece, and spread out gently or gently press into an even layer with the back of a spoon. Repeat this process for the second slice.
  4. Sprinkle equal amounts of basil and oregano over each slice of toast, then top each with 3 slices of pepperonis (if using). Add other toppings to each piece, as desired.
  5. Place the baking pan back in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is warmed through and melty.
  6. Carefully transfer each slice of toast to a plate, drizzle with hot honey or hot sauce, and enjoy! This recipe is best served right away for optimal texture.
