The Benefits of Cultured Dairy for Better Health:
Research continues to show the importance of eating healthy foods, including cultured dairy such as kefir, for better gut health, a strong immune system, and to support the microbiome. Fermented foods like kefir hold important value in this line of research due to the link between the gut-brain axis and overall health.
Specifically, kefir has been shown to help diversify the microbiome, support the digestive system, reduce inflammation, support healthier blood sugar levels, and improve satiety since the bioavailable protein it contains triggers the release of GLP-1. Lifeway Kefir also contains a variety of nutrients that are vital for healthy bones and overall health including vitamins D3, K, and B 12 along with calcium and potassium. Along with our kefir, we also offer our creamy, cultured Lifeway Farmer Cheese, a high protein cheese made with live and active cultures to support a healthy microbiome that’s easy to spread and contains no added salt or sugar.

Make It With a Ninja Creami:
Make the Vanilla Frozen Kefir:
Blend the ingredients for this layer together, then pour into a Ninja Creami pint. Place the lid on and freeze overnight.Make the Chocolate Frozen Kefir:
Blend the ingredients for this layer together, then pour into a Ninja Creami pint. Place the lid on and freeze overnight.- Remove the pints from the freezer and take off the lids. If your machine has a soft serve function, select Soft Serve, then Ice Cream, and process each. If not, simply process the pints on the Ice Cream method as you normally would.
- Remove half of the vanilla frozen kefir from its pint and transfer it to a clean pint. Remove half of the chocolate frozen kefir from its pint and add it to the same pint, placing it side by side with the vanilla. Repeat with the remaining vanilla and chocolate in the second pint, so you end up with two pints, each half vanilla and half chocolate.
- If your machine doesn't have a Soft Serve function, add the mix-ins, and process each pint again. Serve and enjoy with any additional toppings, if preferred.
- If your machine has a Soft Serve function, secure the soft serve lids and the nozzle, then attach the pints to the machine. Pull down the lever to dispense the soft serve into two cones or bowls. Top with marshmallow bits and graham crackers. Serve and enjoy!
Make It Without a Ninja Creami:
- Blend the Vanilla Frozen Kefir ingredients and Chocolate Frozen Kefir ingredients separately. Pour half the vanilla layer into a sealable glass or silicone container that's shallow in length. Repeat with half the chocolate layer. Swirl the two together, then add the rest of the vanilla and the rest of the chocolate; swirl again to create a pattern. Add the mix-ins and stir once more. Put the lid on and freeze for 4 hours. Scrape down the sides, then put the lid back on, and freeze again until completely frozen.
- Once frozen, scoop out the frozen kefir into two bowls or cones, add any toppings you like, and enjoy!
