Prep this pudding the night before you want to enjoy it so the basil seeds have time to soak up the kefir and plump up to get nice and soft. Look for basil seeds and Lifeway Kefir next time you hit the health food store, or look for basil seeds online if you can’t find them in stores. You can also sub in chia seeds or flax seeds for a similar taste and texture, if you wish.

Directions

  1. Combine the Strawberry Lifeway Kefir, basil seeds, and pure maple syrup in a bowl. Whisk together until combined.
  2. Pour the mixture into a glass to set up (this works best if done overnight). You can add in the 1/3 cup strawberries now or wait until serving.*
  3. The next day, or 30 minutes to 1 hour later, stir in the 1/3 cup strawberries if you haven't already, then add the garnishes. Enjoy!

  • *The longer you let it set before enjoying, the thicker the pudding gets. Adjust set time to your liking.
