Dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp. salt
Filling:
- 3 cups Farmer Cheese
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. minced chives
Topping:
- 1/2 onions, thinly sliced
- 4 tbsp. Lifeway Kefir Butter*
- additional Lifeway Farmer Cheese
- minced chives
Directions
- Add flour, egg, oil, salt, and water to a bowl and mix to form dough. Add more water if needed. Knead on floured surface for 5 minutes. Place in bowl, cover and rest for 30 minutes.
- Mix filling ingredients and set aside. Roll out dough until 1/8 in. thin and cut out three in. circles. Spoon 11/2 tbsp. of filling into centers of each circle. Fold over and crimp edges.
- Sauté onion in 2 tbsp. Lifeway Kefir butter and set aside. Boil pierogi for 2 minutes. then sauté in additional 2 tosp. of Lifeway Kefir butter.
- Top with sautéed onion, Lifeway Farmer Cheese, and minced chives. Enjoy!
