This recipe is simple to make and you can use açaí powder if you can’t find the frozen fruit packs at the store. Just add extra frozen fruit to give it the same thick texture. Either way, you’ll still get a great flavor, antioxidants, probiotics, and fiber.

- 1 1/2 cups Lowfat Mixed Berry Kefir
- 1 frozen açaí packet (find this with the frozen fruit)
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 frozen banana or 1/2 cup of frozen mango
- 1/4 cup dairy-free vanilla or chocolate protein powder of choice, or you can use raw hemp hearts/seeds if you prefer.
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- Garnishes of choice: gluten-free granola or muesli, raw coconut flakes, raw oats, almond slivers or slices, ground flaxseed or ground chia seeds, sliced strawberries, and more blueberries.
Directions
- First, add the Lifeway Kefir to a blender, which will help process all the other frozen ingredients.
- Run the frozen açaí packet under some warm running water for around 5 seconds just enough to soften it to break it in half.
- Open the açaí packet, remove the packaging, and add it to the blender along with the rest of the frozen fruits.
- Add in the protein powder (or hemp hearts) and vanilla extract, then blend on low and progress to high until a very thick smoothie bowl consistency is reached.
- Using a spatula, scoop the mixture into 2 small bowls and serve with any of the listed garnishes of choice. Enjoy!
