Sunshine and smoothie bowls are two of our favorite things about summer, so we whipped up this Mango Pineapple Smoothie Bowl to celebrate the season! This bowl is filled with bright, sweet flavors from tropical fruits that are blended with creamy, probiotic-rich Lifeway Kefir. Our probiotic kefir isn’t just great for your gut; it’s also a high-quality source of complete protein to support your body and help keep you full, while still being light, refreshing, and easy to digest.

Mango and pineapple are two wonderful fruits to pair with Lifeway Kefir for several reasons. Mango is a great source of prebiotic fiber that supports healthy gut bacteria, and pineapple is a natural source of bromelain, an enzyme that assists with protein digestion and helps fight inflammation. These tropical fruits are also top sources of vitamin C, an antioxidant that supports skin and immune system health, just like the probiotics in Lifeway Kefir do. Lastly, the protein in Lifeway Kefir paired with the fiber from these two fruits helps balance out the macronutrients in your bowl to help support satiety well after the last spoonful is enjoyed.
To make this recipe, simply blend the ingredients together, scoop into a bowl, and garnish with your favorite toppings; we used toasted coconut, mango, sliced pineapple, and mint. Sliced almonds, hemp seeds, granola, or regular unsweetened coconut would also be delicious toppings for this recipe.

The Benefits of Cultured Dairy for Better Health:
Research continues to show the importance of eating healthy foods, including cultured dairy such as kefir, for better gut health, a strong immune system, and to support the microbiome. Fermented foods like kefir hold important value in this line of research due to the link between the gut-brain axis and overall health. Specifically, kefir has been shown to help diversify the microbiome, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, support healthier blood sugar levels, and improve satiety since the bioavailable protein it contains triggers the release of GLP-1.
Lifeway Kefir also contains a variety of nutrients that are vital for healthy bones and overall health: vitamin D3, K, calcium, and vitamin B12. Along with our kefir, we also offer our artisan-made Farmer Cheese, a creamy high-protein cheese made with live and active cultures to support a healthy microbiome that’s easy to spread and contains no added salt for optimal heart-health benefits.
