Our probiotic kefir is a terrific base to use in chia pudding recipes since its naturally creamy texture soaks up the chia seeds perfectly and helps soften them as the mixture sits overnight. Lifeway Kefir is rich in protein, calcium, and vitamin D that each support bones and muscle health. Its natural protein is a terrific pairing to the fiber in the fruits and chia seeds, helping them all work together to keep you full long after the last bite is enjoyed. The live probiotics in our kefir also nourish your microbiome just like the fiber in fruit and chia seeds do. Talk about a match made in gut health heaven!

Along with fiber, chia seeds are high in omega-3 fats that support skin, heart, brain, and joint health. Since they expand in size as the pudding sets up overnight, chia pudding’s thick texture is both satisfying and filling. You can use ground or whole chia seeds, so choose whatever you prefer. Just keep in mind you’ll need to give the recipe time to set up a couple hours so it thickens properly.

Juicy, sweet peaches and tart raspberries embellish this recipe with a delightful balance of flavors that make this easy chia pudding recipe one you’ll want to put on repeat. These fruits are also packed with vitamin C and other antioxidants to support skin health and a healthy immune system. Sign us up!

The Benefits of Cultured Dairy for Better Health:

Research continues to show the importance of eating healthy foods, including cultured dairy such as kefir, for better gut health, a strong immune system, and to support the microbiome. Fermented foods like kefir hold important value in this line of research due to the link between the gut-brain axis and overall health. Specifically, kefir has been shown to help diversify the microbiome, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, support healthier blood sugar levels, and improve satiety since the bioavailable protein it contains triggers the release of GLP-1.

Lifeway Kefir also contains a variety of nutrients that are vital for healthy bones and overall health: vitamin D3, K, calcium, and vitamin B12. Along with our kefir, we also offer our artisan-made Farmer Cheese, a creamy high-protein cheese made with live and active cultures to support a healthy microbiome that’s easy to spread and contains no added salt for optimal heart-health benefits.

Prep Time: 2 hours (or overnight) Servings: 2

Directions

  1. Add 1 cup of fresh raspberries to a medium bowl and mash them with a fork. If using frozen raspberries, let them thaw slightly before mashing. Add the Lifeway Kefir, chia seeds, maple syrup, and vanilla, and whisk to combine.
  2. Divide the mixture between two glass jars (preferably ones with lids), then add the freshly diced peaches and fresh raspberries on top of each glass. Put the lids on the jars, then place them in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. The next morning or 2 hours later, add gluten-free granola on top and enjoy!
