Ingredients
Crust:
- 3 ½ cups unsalted mini pretzels, crushed
- 7 tbsp. slightly melted Salted Kefir Butter
- 1 tbsp. pure maple syrup or raw honey
Filling:
- 1 (16 ounce) container Farmer Cheese
- 1/2 cup Organic Whole Milk Vanilla Kefir
- 1-2 tbsp. pure maple syrup or honey
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt or kosher salt
Topping:
- 1 pint (16 ounces) of fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 tbsp. all-fruit strawberry jam, slightly warmed
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Prepare the Crust: Add the pretzels to a medium bowl, along with the melted Lifeway Kefir Butter, and maple syrup or honey. Stir everything together with a spoon until well combined.
- Add the pretzel mixture to a lightly greased, 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Press the pretzel mixture firmly onto the bottom and up sides of the tart pan. Place the tart pan on a baking sheet and place in the oven.
- Bake the crust for about 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned and fragrant. Remove tart from the oven and set aside to cool completely.
- Place all the ingredients for the filling into a food processor or blender, and blend until creamy. Scoop into the prepared pie crust. Let it set in the fridge for 3 hours to set up properly and thicken a little.
- Prior to serving, toss the sliced strawberries in the warmed strawberry jam in a medium bowl, then spoon over the top of the pie.
