Red velvet cake can now be yours in a smoothie bowl form with these Red Velvet Smoothie Bowls made with Strawberry Lifeway Kefir. Our lowfat kefir makes any smoothie bowl creamier and healthier thanks to it being an excellent source of protein and live probiotics for gut health.

Lifeway Kefir is made with only the best ingredients so you can make the best smoothies and smoothie bowls like this one! To create these smoothie bowls with an authentic red velvet cake flavor, we used dark cocoa powder, vanilla extract, a vanilla protein powder (for a cake-like flavor), frozen berries, and Strawberry Lifeway Kefir.
Instead of cream cheese used in red velvet cake’s icing, our kefir adds a creamy tartness that’s similar, yet much healthier. The live and active cultures our kefir products are prepared with are what makes it tart and tangy—and incredible for your gut!

Frozen strawberries and frozen bananas turn this recipe into a thick, creamy smoothie bowl treat. A fresh sprinkling of nutty granola and fresh berries set the whole thing off before you’re ready to enjoy.
So grab your blender, a bottle of Lifeway, and make any day a piece of probiotic-filled cake!

The Benefits of Cultured Dairy for Better Health:
Research continues to show the importance of eating healthy foods, including cultured dairy such as kefir, for better gut health, a strong immune system, and to support the microbiome. Fermented foods like kefir hold important value in this line of research due to the link between the gut-brain axis and overall health. Specifically, kefir has been shown to help diversify the microbiome, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, support healthier blood sugar levels, and improve satiety since the bioavailable protein it triggers the release of GLP-1.
Lifeway Kefir also contains a variety of nutrients that are vital for healthy bones and overall health: vitamin D3, K, calcium, and vitamin B12. Along with our kefir, we also offer our artisan-made Farmer Cheese, a creamy high-protein cheese made with live and active cultures to support a healthy microbiome that’s easy to spread and contains no added salt for optimal heart-health benefits.
