Our Spooky Farmer Cheese Jam Dip is a festive display of our love for Halloween and filled with sweet benefits for your body thanks to Lifeway Farmer Cheese. This delicious, decorative dip is packed with high-quality protein and live probiotics from our creamy, cultured cheese, plus the berry jam dip on top is filled with antioxidants and prebiotic fiber from fresh berries and chia seeds we used to make a quick homemade jam.

Lifeway Farmer Cheese makes the perfect base for dips of all kinds, ranging from sweet to savory and anything in between. Some like to say it’s smooth and mild like ricotta, but high in protein and more versatile in usage like cottage cheese. Our farmer cheese is unique in the fact it doesn’t contain any added sugars, salt, stabilizers, preservatives, gums or other fillers, so you can feel good about serving recipes made with it to everyone you know. Additionally, our farmer cheese is 99% lactose-free, so even individuals who aren’t able to enjoy most cheese varieties can indulge in our farmer cheese thanks to the live probiotics it has that we use during fermentation.

This Spooky Farmer Cheese Jam Dip couldn’t be easier to prepare and is an easy recipe to whip up at the last minute for guests or with children. You can serve it some freshly toasted bread like we did, or go with low-sugar graham crackers, fresh berries, crostini, or anything else you like. For the final spooky touch, we added miniature eyeballs and spiders on top that you can find at most party stores or wherever Halloween party goods are sold. We hope you love it as much as we do!
The Benefits of Cultured Dairy for Better Health:
Research continues to show the importance of eating healthy foods, including cultured dairy such as kefir, for optimal digestion and gut health, a strong immune system, and to support the microbiome. Fermented foods like kefir hold important value in this line of research due to the link between the gut-brain axis and overall health. Specifically, kefir has been shown to help diversify the microbiome, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, support healthier blood sugar levels, and improve satiety since the bioavailable protein it contains triggers the release of GLP-1.
Lifeway Kefir is packed with variety of vital nutrients important for overall health, including bone and muscle health; these include vitamin D3, K, calcium, and vitamin B12. Along with our probiotic-rich kefir, Lifeway also offers artisan-made Farmer Cheese, a creamy high-protein cheese made with live and active cultures to support healthy muscles and healthy microbiome. Lifeway Farmer Cheese is easy to spread, free of gums and thickeners, and contains no added salt or sugar for optimal health benefits.
Prep Time: 10 minutes Servings: 6-8Ingredients
For the Quick Berry Jam:
- 1 1/3 cups fresh or frozen berries
- 2 tbsp. chia seeds
- 2 dates
- 1 tbsp. water
For the Farmer Cheese Dip:
- 1 package of Farmer Cheese
- 2-3 tsp. honey
Serving Ideas:
Freshly toasted baguette slices, crostini, low-sugar graham crackers, or fresh berries
Directions
- Prepare the Quick Berry Jam: In a small pot, add the fresh or frozen berries, the dates, and add 2 tbsp. water on top. Turn the heat to medium heat, and let the berries slowly start to cook down. Mash it with a heat-safe spatula as it cooks down. Once the berries are soft and their juices start to release, put the lid on the pot and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Remove the lid, strain the berries, then put into a food processor with chia seeds and purée into a homemade jam. You can prepare this 1-2 days ahead or as little as 30 minutes to hour before you use it. It needs to chill in the fridge to set up for at least 30 minutes - 1 hour before use.
- For the Cheese Dip: Blend a package of Lifeway Farmer Cheese with 2-3 tsp. raw honey in a food processor until whipped and creamy. Scoop it onto a cheese board, then dollop the berry jam dip on top in different places.
- Top with the spiders, eyeballs, and any other types of Halloween decor you want. Edible glitter would also be fun here!
- Serve with freshly toasted baguette slices, low-sugar graham crackers, fresh berries, or crostini, then serve and enjoy!
