Join us on a gut health journey. For the next five days we have a series of self-care activities planned that are simple, fun, and designed to help you prioritize your health and wellbeing. Share your progress each day with #GutCheckIn. We can’t wait to see your photos and hear all about your week.
Day 1: Place your hand on your gut and breathe.
Clear your mind of any distractions and find a quiet space before beginning. For one minute, focus on your breathing. Take deep, calming breaths and place your hands on your gut. Notice the connection between your breath and your gut. Zero in on how your gut feels at this moment. Set a timer and reconnect with yourself.
Day 2: A before and after fridge selfie.
Take an inventory of your fridge and remove items that don’t make you feel good. Stock it with veggies, fruits, fish, eggs, kefir, and donate the rest. You’ll feel the satisfaction of a clean fridge and an act of kindness. Share your before and after selfies on social media. Encourage your friends to join in on the gut-health fridge cleanse as well!
Day 3: Take a quiet moment to enjoy a glass of kefir.
Enjoy a refreshing glass of kefir during a quiet moment. Choose any low-key activity, like your post-workout stretch or while you solve a puzzle. Anything that doesn’t include scrolling through social media. Think of it as a mini cleanse for your gut and your mind.
Day 4: Create a gut-healthy recipe.
Now that your fridge is clean and full of healthy food, experiment with these ingredients and create a gut-healthy meal. As you’re developing a recipe, make sure it includes prebiotic-rich foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains, and probiotic-rich foods like kimchi, miso, and kefir. Your microbiome thrives on these meals and may improve your body’s natural functions, including your immune and digestive systems. Let your creativity run wild.
Day 5: Start a wellness journal.
Start a wellness journal dedicated to your gut-health journey. Write down your Gut Check-In experience; what you liked, what you found challenging, and what you plan to work on for next time. Set a goal to regularly keep track of your wellness journey and refer back to previous entries when you’re feeling unbalanced. Share your wellness journal with us on social media.
