Three years ago, we launched our #MotherCulture campaign to celebrate the fact that everything, including kefir, starts with a mother. #MotherCulture is all about moms and what they do for their children and the community.
While one day a year isn’t nearly enough to show mom our thanks, we’ve come up with a list of some of our favorite ways to spend it.
Get Active Together
Warm weather has arrived, so it’s the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors. Take mom on a long walk through a forest preserve, go for a bike ride along her favorite trail, or pick up some seedlings and get to work in her garden. You can also treat mom to a relaxing outdoor yoga class or maybe play a round of mini golf.
Cook Her Breakfast in Bed
Going out for brunch is fun and all, but it’s much more meaningful to cook it yourself. Gather fixings for mimosas or bloody mary’s, whatever mom prefers, and whip up something healthy and delicious. Make a batch of these crispy overnight blender waffles, bake this cheesy spring quiche, or make a stack of fluffy kefir pancakes. Check out our spring recipe book here.
Treat Her to an At-Home Spa Day
Who doesn’t like being pampered? Arrange a spa day for you and your mom! If you don’t feel like splurging on a big ticket spa day, you can easily create a relaxing day at home. Here’s our ideal spa day:
Things you can prep beforehand (either morning of or night before):
Kefir-based face masks (we have some awesome recipes here)
Refreshments (mimosas, homemade lemonade, or even smoothies)
Chocolate covered fruit
Cheese and cracker plate
A playlist of your mom’s favorite music, some relaxing nature sounds, or even some light piano
Stock up on her favorite nail polish
Set the scene:
Low light with calming music
Place and prep the refreshments
Lay out the nail polish, kefir face masks, and any other activity you plan on enjoying together!
