Celebrating #MotherCulture

Four years ago, we launched our #MotherCulture campaign to celebrate the fact that everything, including kefir, starts with a mother. #MotherCulture is all about moms and what they do for their children and the community.


Motherhood is the foundation of life, compassion, and empowerment. While one day a year isn’t nearly enough to show mom our thanks, we’ve come up with a list of some of our favorite ways to spend it.

Spend it with Mother Nature

As spring starts to blend into summer, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors. Take a long walk with mom through a forest preserve, go biking along a beautiful trail, or surprise her with some flowers and herbs for her garden. Look into taking an outdoor yoga class, visit your local plant conservatory, or even just sit in the backyard to enjoy an afternoon tan.

Cook Her Breakfast in Bed

How many times has your mom created a meal for you? Brought you that bowl of soup when you were sick? It’s time to give back to her by crafting a meal of gratitude! How to Make Kefir Soap


Make a batch or two of Kefir Soap

If you’re looking for something fun and DIY to do, you can whip up a batch of our cold processed kefir soap. It’s easy to make and a fun way to spend some quality time together.

Treat Her to an At-Home Spa Day

Make the act of self-care memorable by arranging an at-home spa day for you and your mom!

Things you can prep beforehand (either morning of or night before):

Kefir-based face masks (we have some awesome recipes here)
Refreshments such as:

Citrus & Ginger Tonic
• Citrus Goddess Smoothie
 Kefir Chocolate Truffles
• Cucumber Farmer Cheese Bites

A playlist of your mom’s favorite music, some relaxing nature sounds, or even some light piano
Stock up on her favorite nail polish colors (glitter is always a good idea!)

Set the scene:

Low light with zen music
Add a salt lamp or crystal
Place and prep the refreshments
Lay out the nail polish, kefir face masks, and any other activity you plan on enjoying together!
